WORK GROUP DATES: Sessions 1 & 3 - 9.30am-3.00pm Session 1 – Tuesday 9th January 2024 * Session 2 – Wednesday 28th February (ONLINE) 10:30am-3.30pm Session 3 – Monday 17th June * * Session 1 and 3 will be held at: World's End Junior School, Quinton, Birmingham B32 2SA Come and join a Work Group that will look at ways of improving outcomes for girls in maths and STEM. Try out new ideas in your classroom and share with colleagues. Who can take part? This Work Group is for classroom teachers and mathematics leaders. What does it involve? This is a ‘research and innovation’ Work Group enabling participants to develop an aspect of Teaching for Mastery in their own schools. We will work together to explore approaches that improve outcomes for girls in maths and STEM. Central workshops will focus on:

The Work Group is fully funded by the Maths Hubs Programme and so is provided FREE to participating schools. Expectations of Participants and their Schools - Schools must be able to commit to the full academic year’s programme, with senior leadership releasing the same nominated teacher(s) to attend ALL workshops, as well as school-based activity. |

Discussion of reading – do you agree/disagree with what you’ve read? Feedback on the series of lessons taught. Work collaboratively to draft findings that could be shared more widely or used by others in your school. Select a second area of focus (one explored by Work Group colleagues) to explore in school. |
