This programme is designed for secondary schools that have previously taken part in a Teaching for Mastery Work Group and is open to all teachers of maths.

The Work Group is designed to provide support for departments to embed teaching for mastery across KS3 and KS4.

What is involved?

Focusing on its five big ideas: coherence, representation and structure, mathematical thinking, fluency, and variation. Key strategies include using concrete manipulatives to build understanding, breaking down concepts into smaller steps, and encouraging students to reason, discuss, and apply concepts in different ways.
