This project is for teachers in schools that have previously engaged with a Secondary Teaching for Mastery Programme or Work Group. This includes all schools which have previously engaged with a Development Work Group and schools that have had a Secondary Mastery Specialist trained.

For all participant schools, there is an expectation that the subject leader participates in their local Secondary Maths Subject Leader Community.

What is involved?

The focus for this Work Group is looking at and discussing strategies to help students learn to solve problems, and will consider how to make problem solving accessible for all students.

There will be 3 half-day workshops across the academic year for participants to attend.

What will I learn?

• Develop a shared, whole-department approach to teaching for mastery
• Support pupils to meet age-related expectations and develop deeper understanding of key mathematical ideas.
• Network with other local schools and share best practice
