Special Schools

Special Schools

At Central Maths Hub, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and develop confidence in mathematics. Through our work, we support schools in exploring how a Teaching for Mastery approach can strengthen equity, ensuring that all pupils can thrive, enjoy and achieve in mathematics, regardless of their background, prior attainment, educational needs or circumstances.

We provide a collaborative network for teachers and leaders working across mainstream schools, Special Schools and Alternative Provisions, creating opportunities to share practice, learn from one another and deepen understanding of effective approaches for supporting learners with SEND.

Together, we explore how a mastery approach can help remove barriers to learning, promote meaningful engagement and enable all children to make progress in mathematics. Our professional development programmes focus on designing and enhancing inclusive mathematics curricula that support deep understanding, build confidence and foster long-term success for every learner.

Alongside our Teaching for Mastery programmes, we also offer a range of specialist opportunities focused on specific areas of need. These additional resources and professional development sessions provide practical strategies, research-informed approaches and opportunities to connect with colleagues facing similar challenges.
