We are offering a free day of professional development with our two Teaching for Mastery leads, Claire Duncan and Helen Hackett.
Sessions will include an introduction to the term 'Teaching for Mastery' and exploration of mastery approaches, such as:
- Reflecting upon how your curriculum addresses social disadvantage.
- Exploring how your school intent for mathematics ensures all pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to succeed in life.

Sessions will include an introduction to the term 'Teaching for Mastery' and exploration of mastery approaches, such as:
- Experience live demo lessons, facilitated by Mastery Specialists.
- Explore links to the latest research.
- Participate in practical activities unpicking the CPA approach.
- Explore the NCETM Prioritisation Materials to support curriculum planning and ease teacher workload.
- Discuss key strategies for ensuring all pupils develop as mathematicians, without the constraints of ability labels.
Audience
Sessions are suitable for school and MAT leaders and maths leads, or any teachers who are interested in developing their understanding of Teaching for Mastery and adopting mastery approaches in their teaching.
