Teaching for Mastery Work Groups
Primary 2020/21
Closing date for applications: Friday 10th July 2020
The Central Maths Hub is seeking to recruit primary schools to take part in a programme of professional development in 2020-21, designed to support schools in implementing a teaching for mastery approach.
Two teachers from each participating school will join a Work Group, consisting of six or seven local primary schools, and led by a trained primary Mastery Specialist. Places are now available to become part of this programme from September 2020. Two teachers from each participant school attend six, half-day meetings during the school year, and lead teaching for mastery development in their own school*. There is no charge for participation in the programme and schools receive £1,000 as a contribution to cover costs. They are also eligible to claim £2,000 in match-funding to buy maths textbooks. To apply, please download the full information and application form and email your completed form to mathshub@bishopchalloner.bham.sch.uk . *Covid recovery The school year 2020/21 will be substantially affected by the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak and the knock-on effects to schools cannot be predicted with any certainty. As a result, Maths Hubs work will be flexible and will adapt to changing realities. It is likely that there will be more live online collaboration, for example by including use of video and online Work Group sessions. |
