Using free GeoGebra resources to support the CPA approach to teaching Mathematics
For Primary and Secondary colleagues
*Future dates to be considered*
The Central Maths Hub GeoGebra Resources Work Group design and create free resources to support the CPA approach to teaching Mathematics across the key stages. The resources will be available soon within an online textbook format available for all to use.
This session will look at how our interactive resources can be used effectively to support the movement from the "concrete" to the "abstract" via its pictorial capabilities.
You will have the opportunity to see some of the resources that have been created, along with the inspiration behind them and how they have been used in the classroom. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills in using GeoGebra, not only for the pre-made resources, but also in creating your own.
The session will be led by GeoGebra software developer Michael Borcherds and enthusiast Tom Carpenter, both of whom have numerous years experience of the program and teaching mathematics. Other members of the work group will also be in attendence to share their experiences of using GeoGebra for the first time this year.
